• Willie Garson died during production at age 57. In a touching interview with Stephen Colbert, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon revealed that the cast and crew were not informed of his condition when production began. Davis broke in tears describing going to work without him: "It's hard. I wish he was here".

• Kim Cattrall did not return to play Samantha Jones aside from a brief cameo.
