• When Zeke, the Sheriff, settles into his shift guarding the bank, he's holding an unidentified Stephen King paperback book. After the robbery, Steph drives the robbers' getaway car into a previously-prepared hole and buries it. A 1993 collection of stories by Stephen King, Nightmares & Dreamscapes, begins with the story "Dolan's Cadillac," in which a man seeking revenge on a gangster who killed his wife digs a hole in a highway the precise dimensions of the gangster's Cadillac, lures him to drive his Cadillac into the hole, then buries him alive.
• The original screenplay was on the 2009 Black List, a list of the "most liked" unmade scripts in Hollywood.
