• Cut Bank (2014) took two years to film and it was filmed in Edmonton and Innisfree, Alberta, Canada.
• One of the recurring blog questions has been,"What was in the lunchbox?" The answer is - probably nothing. The large puzzle on the taxidermist's wall had the picture of the woman holding the lunchbox. The diorama had the woman's empty hand out reached. The lunchbox alone was needed to complete the scene. Different parts of the scene had apparently been delivered annually by the postman.
• There are many similarities between the character of Derby Milton and real life killer Ed Gein. Gein is known to have been the inspiration for many iconic Hollywood horror thriller characters including Norman Bates of Psycho (1960) and Buffalo Bill in The Silence of the Lambs (1991). Derby Milton's fascination with taxidermy echoes that of Norman Bates, while his "preserved room" has undertones of Buffalo Bill's desire to preserve bodies of his victims. Even more notably, is the direct comparison between Derby Milton and Ed Gein in that they were both well known locally as socially awkward small farm town outcasts.
