A 2020 report revealed that the North East of England has the highest suicide rate in England and Wales, with figures released by the Office for National Statistics showing an 11% rise in deaths from the previous year. Something is wrong here, and more needs to be done to support those silently struggling, before it's too late... Passing Ships is a short film on mental health and the prevalence of male suicide in the North East of England featuring a narrated poem voiced by Baz Warne and an epilogue by Melanie Hill.
