• This film went through an extensive casting process. At least 35+ actors were tested for every one of the chief characters - Shraddha Joshi, Pritam Pandey, Gauri Bhaiya, Ranveer, Pushpa, Dadi. The only character for which only one actor was tested was Manoj.

• Vikrant Massey did not apply make up to achieve his village look - he actually spent weeks in the village and sunbathed in a vest everyday to tan his skin. He got so carried away that his skin actually got burnt. Vikrant was quite worried but VVC assured him to not think about it. In the film, his burnt skin can clearly be seen in a few scenes - where he says bye to Dadi, and when he comes to Mussoorie to Shraddha's home. It was decided to not correct this in post production. Vikrant said that due to this, he was feeling so under-confident while shooting these scenes that it ended up elevating his performance, since Manoj is supposed to feel extremely low in the scene.

• In the Dilli Haat scene when Shraddha sings a song in the truth and dare scene, actress Medha Shankr herself sang the song right there, live on location. During initial screenings some people felt the singing was a bit too perfect, it did not feel like she was singing it for real, it felt like a playback recording. So the sound editors were asked to deliberately mess up the levels of her singing a little bit to make it more raw and hence, more real... even though it was already real.
