• While looking for a flight at the airport in the Season 1 finale, Sara (Mary Page Keller) says to George (Steven Weber), "I've never even heard of Sandpiper Air." Sandpiper Air was the airline owned and operated by Weber's character Brian on the show Wings (1997). Wings (1997) also starred Rebecca Schull who plays April's grandma, Emma, on Chasing Life (2014).

• In the episode where Natalie and Brenna attend a tailgate at BU, the fraternity guy on whom Natalie dumps her drink is wearing the letters "Omega Chi Delta", the fictional fraternity from the ABC Family show Greek (2007) which stars Scott Michael Foster, who plays Leo Hendrie in Chasing Life (2014). The letters "Kappa Tau Gamma" can be seen in the background of the same scene, which is the fictional fraternity that Scott Michael Foster's character Cappie, from Greek (2007), belonged to.

• Aisha Dee who plays Beth (April's best friend) is supposed to be the same age as April. But actually, Aisha is younger than Italia Ricci (April) and April's little sister Brenna (Haley Ramm).
