• Trigedasleng, the language spoken by the grounders, was created by David J. Peterson, the same person who created Dothraki, A language spoken in Game of Thrones (2011).
• The series started filming before the first book was released. Accordingly, the two series (television and book) have almost nothing in common besides the names of a handful of characters and the basic premise of the very beginning of each.
• Raven was initially going to be killed off in Season 1; however, the producers eventually decided against this and instead promoted Lindsey Morgan to series regular for Season 2.

Season 7 ruined it for me...would be a 9 otherwise...other seasons were good.
