• When the Moon is seen during the Triassic segment, it is correctly shown missing the Tycho crater from its bottom. It is estimated this crater was caused by an impact that happened during the Early Cretaceous, so it would not have existed during the Triassic.
• Being a spin-off of Life on Our Planet (2023), this series reuses some shots and several prehistoric animal models from that show. However, there are some changes. The Edmontosaurus was given an entirely new 3D model and this series also corrected one of the errors on the previously used Tyrannosaurus model, reducing the number of its teeth.
• Many animals are not named in the narration. Their genus names were revealed by the show's scientific consultants and by ancillary material released by Netflix. These include: * The duck-billed herbivores referred to as hadrosaurs by the narration are Edmontosaurus. Two species are featured, E. annectens (green) and E. regalis (brown). * The sauropods living in Late Cretaceous North America are Alamosaurus. * The long-tailed pterosaurs performing mating rituals are Caelestiventus. * The unnamed reptile threatening Liliensternus is Smok wawelski. * The stegosaur claimed to be the last of its lineage is Yanbeilong. * The ankylosaur that produces mating calls is Peloroplites. * The sauropods hunted by Yutyrannus are Dongbeititan. * The mosasaur is Tylosaurus. * The pterosaur raiding Edmontosaurus nests is Arambourgiania.
