Did you know

In 2014, 'Formula One' introduced a driver number system whereby each driver could choose their own racing number that would stay with them throughout their 'F1' career. Should a driver win the World Championship that year, they could choose to run with #1 on their car the following year or retain their chosen number. When drivers retire from 'Formula One' their number is retained for two years before it is released to allow other racing drivers to use that number. This is a sports podcast by 'Formula 1'.

Originally called 'Formula Why', this is a weekly show for fans who want to know more about how 'F1' works, with each episode answering a 'why?' question - such as 'why is racing in the rain so difficult?' - across a broad range of topics. Hosted by American motorsport reporter Katie Osborne, who has covered IndyCar, NASCAR and more recently 'F1', and British presenter Christian Hewgill, who has interviewed dozens of 'F1' drivers for the 'BBC' and on 'The Independent' podcast, 'The Fast and The Curious'.
