Did you know

In the middle of the movie, when Sofiane tries to talk to Cécile in her old bedroom, the music kicks in but suddenly stops as Fanfan (the mother) interrupts them. It might not be obvious to international audiences, but everyone in France would have recognized the intro to "Je l'aime à mourir" ("I Love Her to Death" in English) by Francis Cabrel.

The title, "Partir un jour" ("Leave One Day" in English), comes from the title of French boy band 2Be3's biggest hit, released in October 1996.

Opening film at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.
