2054 is set in a future where Michela (Eleonora Giovanardi), a successful football player, interacts with the avatar of her mother, Lina (Angela Finocchiaro), an artificial intelligence created to keep her presence alive. However, the avatar begins to express sexist critiques, in stark contrast to Lina's feminist past. With the help of her husband Marco (Dario Leone), Michela turns to Santo (Fabio Zulli), a technician, to resolve the supposed malfunction. When Michela directly confronts the avatar, her mother's true personality resurfaces-strong and independent. Meanwhile, Santo finds himself facing off against Seele, the company that produces the avatars, raising concerns about potential manipulation of digital memories and its implications for women's rights.
