Did you know

During the flashback to the Sino-American War in Alaska, Cooper is saved from being captured by a squad of Chinese PLA soldiers when a large, ferocious creature known as a deathclaw attacks the Chinese and kills them all, however it did not harm Cooper. The Deathclaw is the most feared creature and the apex predator of the post-War wasteland, being featured throughout the Fallout series, they appeared in Fallout (1997), Fallout 2: A Post-Nuclear Role-Playing Game (1998), Fallout Tactics (2001), Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel (2004), Fallout 3 (2008), Fallout: New Vegas (2010), Fallout 4 (2015), Fallout Shelter (2015), and Fallout 76 (2018). Deathclaws are a genetically engineered species of large, carnivorous, bipedal, predatory reptiles with powerful limbs, razor-sharp claws capable of easily cutting a person in half & cutting through power armor, powerful tails capable of easily breaking bones & knocking over vehicles, and tough hides capable of withstanding small arms fire from both firearms and energy weapons. Deathclaws stand around 9-10 feet tall (2.7-3 meters) and can reach up to 20 feet (6 meters) in length from snout to tail. Deathclaws originated from scientific experiments conducted by the United States government during the Sino-American War to develop a cheap, cost-effective replacement for human troops during heavy-duty combat operations, they had a rudimentary intelligence allowing them to be trained for specific actions, like recognizing friendly troops such as with Cooper. Deathclaws are primarily based on the DNA of the Jackson's Chameleon, mixed with genes from other animals like iguanas to create fast, powerful, and terrifying combat creatures for the U.S. military. In the centuries following the Great War, deathclaws were further experimented on by groups like The Master and the Enclave, further enhancing their abilities with different strains of the Forced Evolutionary Virus, resulting in deathclaws having subtle variations in size, color and appearance in different parts of the wasteland.

While recovering from her injuries, Lucy becomes addicted to Buffout, a drug that appears across the Fallout series. Buffout is a brand of highly advanced steroids that increase strength, reflexes, and endurance. Although highly addictive, it was a popular choice among pre-War athletes and the military, allowing them to run longer and work out harder. The popularity of the drug resulted in a number of hybridized variants, including Bufftats (mixed with Mentats) that increases strength and intelligence, and Psychobuff, mixed with the amphetamine-like Psycho it was also popular with soldiers as the drug increases strength, stamina and damage output.

When Norm is leading the newly re-awakened executive staff from Vault 31 through the surface, Ronnie McCurtry introduces himself asking if it is time for "phase 2" and mentions being present for Bud's meetings with Vault-Tec investors about "Future Enterprise Ventures" and the "plans" for vaults 32 and 33. This seems to be a veiled reference by Ronnie to FEV, the Forced Evolutionary Virus, responsible for the creation of most of the wasteland's monsters like rad scorpions, radroaches, Deathclaws, and the, as yet to be shown from the games, super mutants. This would appear to indicate the plan all along was to eventually use the inhabitants of Vaults 32 and 33 as subjects for mutation stock/experiment subjects.
