• To keep Gumball, Darwin, and Anais young, all voices have been recast. Gumball is now played by Alkaio Thiele, Darwin is now played by Hero Hunter, and Anais is now played by Kinza Syed Khan. However, both Nicole and Richard Watterson, the parents, remain the same. Teresa Gallagher still plays Nicole and Dan Russell still plays Richard.

• In the teaser, when Gumball asks how late they are for school, Darwin says, "About seven years." This is a reference to how long the show has been left untouched, which was about seven years. Season six was finished in 2019.

• This marked a seven year return for gumball after the inquisition in 2019 following the cliffhanger
