Yami wo Kire
It was the Edo period, known as the " Tanuma era ." Sadanobu Matsudaira, the lord of the Shirakawa domain in Oshu , was worried about the rampant bribery and felt the need for reform. In order to expel Okitsugu Tanuma, Sadanobu ordered HachirozaemonKaneko, a government official, to form a shadowy organization. Shojiro Torii ,the leader of the organization, was a Shirakawa domain samurai, but was ordered by his superior Hachirozaemon to operate in the shadows as a so-called "dead man" in exchange for committing suicide and destroying the family. Thus, Shojiro, who changed his name to "Shinjiro Torikai", began his activities as a "dark hunter" to overthrow the Tanuma government, along with three companions he had gathered himself: former police officer and masseuse Ryunosuke Aratani, stray ninja Nagisa, and Tetsuzou no Mimi.
