Did you know

Hotrod Ponce decided to use his friends and family to film some of the scenes based on his real life adventures after several racers, actors, film crew and directors were interviewed for the Ultimate Rally movie but they all were scared due to the film locations in remote areas in deep Mexico. All the stunt seasons were filmed with no planning or permissions asked in an uncontrolled environment. There are several scenes filmed with hidden cameras capturing footage of real events that took place.

All the vehicles that appeared in this avant garde style film belonged to Hotrod Ponce, he modified and exported the 1981 Ford Bronco from Mexico to Norway and sold it to purchase the 1965 Volvo Amazon that he found in a barn in Norway that he ended up smuggling into Mexico. The Jeep is a full blown race and daily driver vehicle that he used to pre run the actual race course that Ponce designed for the Ultimate Rally race that required death insurance and a $25 K entry fee. The retro limousine, VW Beetle and Touareg were also modified to survive the filming.

Ponce almost died during a hard core tropical rain storm where they could not see anything while driving in the Jeep and were following a Truck Driver who only had one rear light working. Ponce wanted to film the scene but instead followed his racing instincts to figure out which rear light was the good one. He asked his co-driver Thanatoz Khaoz Phren to drop the film camera and look out the side window to see what he saw. It turned out to be a cliff drop on the right confirming that the good rear light of the 18 wheeler they needed to keep following was the one on the left hand side. The limo was following the Jeep driven by Frodo and the Colombian model Leidy. Thanatoz managed to get a quick image that appears in the film.
