Did you know

• Bill Paxton and Glenne Headly, who played the parents of Mae, both died the year of the film's release. Paxton died two months prior to the film's release on February 25 due to complications from heart surgery, and Headly died of a pulmonary embolism on June 8, less than two months after the film's release.

• The ending was changed significantly for the film adaptation. In the novel, Mae, fully believing in The Circle's goals and mantras, betrays Ty in his attempt to bring down the company and he is effectively silenced.

• Re-shoots took place four months before release, aimed at making Emma Watson's character more appealing, but test audience reactions were even worse than previous test screenings.
