• Lee and Morgan are both Artificial Intelligence. Their obvious differences shows in their behavior. Morgan being more emotionally cognitive manifests in her demonstrating emotions, and Lee having programmed to have less emotional cognition is shows stiffness and does not know how to respond to emotions. This parallel was incorporated best when they first met each other. Morgan lays her hand flat on the glass wall, her face tender, expressing warmth towards meeting Lee, expecting the same response, while Lee stands straight, expressionless, merely looked at the hand, said, Nice to meet you, like she did to everyone else as in a script, then walked away.

• Morgan, in its opening weekend, couldn't even crack the weekend top ten after an estimated $615,000 on the Friday it was released in the US, from 2,020 theaters, heading toward a three-day weekend around $1.8 million and a four-day weekend around $2.3 million. It ended up being one of the worst openers of the summer and one of the worst openings for a film debuting in over 2,000 theaters. The film was subsequently pulled from theatres after 2 and a half weeks.

• Both Morgan's (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Lee's (Kate Mara) characters have names that can be given to either male or female children, indicating right from the beginning that Kate Mara's character is gender-less and therefore artificial as well.
