• Episodes are aired in Australia on Wednesday nights on the main Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) channel. The title "Gruen XL" is used when each episode is shown the following night on ABC2 (which became ABC Comedy in 2017), when some additional discussion on the topics covered on the previous night is added to extend the running time ("XL" in the title could be interpreted as meaning either "eXtra Large" or "eXtended Length"). Both the standard and extended versions of each episode were made available for streaming to Australian viewers on the ABC iView online service. Encore screenings of seasons broadcast since 2021 on ABC TV Plus have been at the same length as the Wednesday night broadcasts on ABC TV, which has also been the only version of these episodes offered on ABC iView, and the title Gruen XL has not been used.
