• Roger Stone, longtime associate of both Donald Trump and Roy M. Cohn, admitted that Jeremy Strong's portrayal of Cohn was "uncanny in its accuracy."
• Various dated visual textures were used to give the movie a more authentic feeling, making it look almost like a documentary. The crew used 16mm film to shoot the scenes from the 1970s, and a filter mimicking the look of a VHS video for scenes from the 1980s.
• Daniel M. Snyder invested in this film because he mistakenly believed it would portray Donald Trump in a positive light. However, according to director Ali Abbasi, he just wanted to make a film about Trump's rise to power based on the known facts, and never set out to malign him. Despite Trump's campaign team announcing legal action against the film, Abbasi has invited Trump to watch the film, and fully expects him to like it.
