Biography

A graduate of Norman Jewison's Canadian Film Centre, Michael's love affair with film began at an early age. As an accomplished musician, he began his career in music videos where his distinctive visual style earned him Leo Award nominations for "Best Music Video" and for "Best Music Video Director" by the West Coast Music Awards.

His passion for filmmaking has taken him across Canada and the USA, where Michael has produced and edited the comedy feature film A Bug and a Bag of Weed. He has also produced numerous short films, including the heartwarming mother-daughter drama Burgeon And Fade, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (2007), the bilingual sci-fi thriller Les jeux d'enfants, and the psycho-drama Regression, starring Nick Mancuso. He has also produced and the edited the multi-award winning trilogy of comedies Reservations For Three?, Is You Is?, and Candice & Peter's Smokin' Hot Date, which marks Michael's film directorial debut. The trio of films is now being developed into a series based around the characters of Candice and Peter.

As an editor, Michael has edited numerous feature films, shorts and TV series, which have screened in theaters and won awards at international film festivals such as the Toronto International Film Festival, Sundance, Sitges, Shriekfest, Fantasia, Karlovy Vary, RazorReel, Molins, Whistler Film Fest, Seattle, Screamfest, Manhattan Film Fest, Cleveland Int'l Film Fest, WorldFest Houston, Fantaspoa and the Seoul Int'l Women's Film Fest.

He continues to work in film and television, in all genres from drama to documentary, to comedy and horror, always in search of another great story to tell.
