Did you know
โข Otis Skinner lost several teeth in the scene where he was thrown down a flight of stairs into a dungeon.
โข A photo advertisement in the 10/20/1917 issue of "Motion Picture News" (page 2671) announces: "Herbert Brenon will present Otis Skinner in 'Kismet' by Edward Knoblock. In order that his most famous role as Hajj, the beggar of old Bagdad, may live after him, Otis Skinner will unquestionably be the supreme motion picture event of the coming year. The opportunity to collaborate with Mr. Brenon caused the star to reconsider his determination never to enter the silent drama." Evidently, Mr. Brenon changed his mind and the proposed film did not get made until 1920 which did not involve Brenon in any way.
โข There is a photo advertisement in the March 1916 issue of "Motion Picture News" that says "Kismet", starring Otis Skinner, was to be released in July of 1916. That version was apparently never made.
