Did you know

At the end of the film, when Moraldo is saying good-bye to the young boy from the train, his "Good-by, Guido" is actually the dubbed voice of director, Federico Fellini. It is believed that Fellini did this to emphasize the fact that the film was autobiographical.

Reportedly said to be Stanley Kubrick's favorite movie.

For Federico Fellini, vitelloni were "the unemployed of the middle class, mother's pets. They shine during the holiday season, and waiting for it takes up the rest of the year".
