The colorful style of the classic anime Lupin the Third Part 1 (1971) was inspired by this film; both feature characters in colored suits, have a very comical and playful undertone, and have a general emphasis on entertainment over logic.

The high-stylizing of the cinematography contrasting colorful background sets and costumes with gangster wearing sunglasses and guns will later influence the filming styles of Quentin Tarantino, Johnnie To and Takeshi Kitano.
