• Despite being released before Meg of June Hill (1980) this is technically that film's sequel, since the stories in this takes place after that. The reason being that Meg of June Hill (1980) is edited from the first season of the Madicken (1979) TV series, which was the very first to be released.
• In a 2022 online chat, Jonna Liljendahl was asked what was it like at school after the 'nude scene' that her and Liv Alsterlund play in the film. "I got a little teased, but I was always reassured by loved ones around me," she said.
• After having directed The Brothers Lionheart (1977) Olle Hellbom felt very tired and decided to step down as director for the two Madicken films and just produce instead. Göran Graffman was chosen as the new director since Hellbom was impressed by his work on the TV series The White Stone (1973).
