Did you know
• This television adaptation of James Yaffe's unsuccessful Broadway play of 1961 was made in England as an American co-production with the BBC; the producers and director were American, but the technical crew was British.
• This was Alan Webb's last acting performance. He died a month before it was aired in the U.S.
• This play is based on a novel by the Swiss writer, Friedrich Durrenmatt, and retains its Swiss setting, although the central character has become an American. The novel had earlier been adapted for British television in 1958, under the title "Breakdown", with the adaptation (by Giles Cooper) moving the story to England and making all the characters British; the ending of the story was also somewhat changed. This adaptation precedes James Yaffe's Broadway adaptation of the story (which is the direct basis for "Deadly Game") by three years.
