Did you know
• In the cartoons where Olive and Alice are in the Army, they're stationed at "Ft. Dragg", which is a play on the real life base Ft. Bragg in North Carolina.
• This series restores Popeye's traditional blue and red sailor suit from the comic strip as opposed to the white US Navy jumper he was depicted in since the 1940s. The only concession from that period is the white Navy hat he still wears. In addition, since the previous mistaken impression that Bluto's name was created by the Fleischer Studios had been cleared up by then, prompting the previous animation company to call him Brutus, Bluto is called by his original name created by EC Segar in the comic strip.
• At the time this cartoon was made, the regulations against violence were so strict, the animators could not even have Popeye roll up his sleeves.
