• On August 25, 2014, during The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards (2014), Jimmy Fallon joked that people should go to IMDb and add themselves as "creative consultant" to this show, that he would support their credit. IMDb subsequently received several thousand credit submissions for "consultants" to the show, including "torture consultant" and "wardrobe malfunction consultant".
• Colbert keeps a collection of pictures of his "Enemies" on the set of the show. Among the pictures is House (2004)'s Hugh Laurie, due to the fact House won an Emmy Award over Colbert's show. Laurie found this to be very funny, and in an episode of House (2004)'s sixth season, a picture of Colbert can be seen on House's desk.
• During the 2007-2008 writers strike, Colbert pronounced the "T"s in "Colbert" and "Report" to indicate that the show was not the same without his writers.
