Did you know
⢠There are 5 hints in the film Don which point to the fact that Vijay(who D'Silva replaces Don with) is actually Don: * 1. Don-Vijay-Don is shown watching Tom and Jerry cartoons when he places a call to D'Silva telling him that it is time for his memory to come back. * 2. Don-Vijay-Don uses "Please" when he is talking to the security guards in the airplane. * 3. Don-Vijay-Don does not recognize Deepu. Deepu recognizes him instead. * 4. Don-Vijay-Don continues to wear his ties tied around his neck and tucked into his shirt, rather than tied normally, around the collar of his shirt, a detail Vijay could not have known. * 5. This comes almost too late to be of any use, but Don-Vijay-Don continues his habit of answering a stupid question with a stupid answer. (When answering TJ's question "Is the cocaine in the case?", Don says, "No, I'm here to give you my birthday card." In reply to Narang's question "What's this?", Don says, "Your wedding DVD." And when D'Silva says, "You have the disc?", "Vijay" replies, "No, it was my love for you that dragged me here.") * 6. During the aforementioned airplane sequence, "Vijay" threatens of Don's teammates and mocks him for his facial feature. On top of that, when the teammate attacks him during his escape, "Vijay" boldly opens the plane door, sucking himself and the teammate out, pursues him and kills him by opening the lone parachute they both are fighting for, leading to the teammate falling to his death. 7) Not "Vijay" related, but during the intermission, "DCP D'Silva" reveals himself as the mysterious Vardhaan (a giveaway that was reserved until towards the climax of the original 1978 version). This hints to the audience that there is an even bigger twist waiting at the end. 8) When "Don" dies in the hospital, he has a shocked and fearful expression in his eyes. This contradicts Don's behavior in a previous scene where a grievously injured Don tells D'Silva "If he wants to shoot him, then to go ahead. But not to make the mistake of arresting him." (This scene also provides clues to "D'Silva"s identity because if he was the actual D'Silva, Don would be arrested then and there and not knocked out by him unless he had ulterior motives.)
⢠Hrithik Roshan was considered for the title role, but upon completing the script, Farhan Akhtar realized that a more mature actor was needed and thus Shah Rukh Khan took the role.
⢠During a shoot, Shah Rukh Khan's wedding ring slipped off his finger. Khan had everyone on the sets searching for it, with the implausible excuse that if they didn't find it, he would have to get married again in order to get himself a new wedding ring. Needless to say, they found it quite quickly.
