Those active in the film industry who were members of this prominent group opposing fascism and Nazism. Although it was a front organization for the Stalinist Communist Party USA (CPUSA), it attracted broad support in Hollywood from both members and nonmembers, reflecting wide-spread anti-fascist sentiment.
